Mount Kearsarge from Green Hill in Jackson by Gamaliel Waldo Beaman

Oil on canvas, 13 ¼ x 21 ½
Signed lower right: WB(G?) [monogram]
Inscribed on stretcher: Mt. Washington N.H. from Manns Hill

Notes
The authors have never seen the verso inscription. Their belief is that the image is not Mount Washington but is Mount Kearsarge. Mount Washington is part of a chain of peaks. This mountain is symmetrical, steep, and isolated as is Mount Kearsarge. The authors welcome any comments.

Provenance
Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth College, Hanover, NH. Gift of Robert A. and Dorothy H. Goldberg.
