George F. Hammond (1855-1938)

George F. Hammond was a painter and architect born in Boston, MA in 1855. His last known address was Zanesville, OH. He studied at the Massachusetts Normal Art School with W. M. Chase, W. L. Sonntag, and W. F. Lansil. He was a member of the Cleveland School of Art.

He exhibited three White Mountain paintings at the Massachusetts Charitable Exhibition of 1881: Shelburne, Shelburne Meadows, and White Mountains from the Glen House. He also exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1908.

He was an active architect in Cleveland, OH until 1926.
