Julia Bacon was born in Boston, MA. She was possibly the J. L. Bacon who exhibited at the National Academy of Design in 1884, 1885, and 1887 and who gave as her address as Attleboro, MA. Bacon studied under Edmund Tarbell. She exhibited at the Boston Art Club in 1885, 1888, 1890, and 1892 to 1898. She was a member of the Boston Art Students Association in 1894. Her last known address was Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts.
