Walter Francis Brown (1853-1929)

Walter Francis Brown was born in Providence, RI. He was a painter and illustrator. He graduated from Brown University in 1873 and studied in Paris. He was a member of the Providence Art Club. His work can be found at the Hay Library in Providence, RI. He was an illustrator for A Tramp Abroad by Mark Twain and Roger Williams by Charles Miller.

Scenes of Venice, his adopted home, were his specialty. He died in Venice in 1929.
