Wellman Morrison (1815-1857)

Wellman Morrison was born on October 8, 1815 in Campton, NH. He died in Boston, MA on April 17, 1857. He was often mistakenly known as William Morrison, since Wellman signed his paintings “W Morrison.”

He exhibited at the Boston Athenaeum in 1846, 1847, and 1856. His three known New Hampshire paintings are Conway Valley (1853), Landscape with Ferryboat on Lake Winnipesaukee (Dartmouth College Art Galleries), and Mount Chocorua (1855).
