Annotated Topographical Features: Champney of Mounts Madison and Adams

Annotated Topographical Features Index

Notes
In 1856 when Champney made this sketch, an early map of the White Mountains by George Phillips Bond misidentified Mounts Jefferson and Adams by labelling Adams as Jefferson and Jefferson as Adams. Champney actually illustrated the reverse side of this Bond map. Unfortunately, based on this map his signature on this sketch calls what is Mount Adams, Mount Jefferson.
